How to Use

Make sure the timber is clean before application. Remove loose dirt and treat any mould, lichen, algae or moss using an appropriate product where necessary.

Protect surrounding paving, plants, brickwork and other surfaces from accidental splashes before beginning.

Stir the Ducksback thoroughly before use and periodically throughout application to maintain an even consistency.

Test a small, inconspicuous area first and allow it to dry completely. This helps you assess both the finished Dusted Aloe colour and adhesion to the timber.

Apply evenly along the wood grain using a suitable brush or roller, working the treatment into the texture of rough-sawn surfaces.

Apply 2–3 coats as required, allowing approximately 2–4 hours between coats under normal weather conditions.

Because Ducksback contains water-repellent wax, subsequent coats should be applied within approximately 2–3 days of the previous coat.

Avoid application below 5°C, in damp conditions or when rain is expected before the coating has had sufficient time to dry.

Remember that the wet product may appear different from the finished Dusted Aloe shade. Assess the final colour once the treatment has dried.

When painting an entire fence, work methodically from panel to panel and maintain a wet edge where practical to achieve a more consistent finish.

Clean brushes and rollers with water after removing as much excess product as possible.
