Part Time Van Driver / Sales Assistant
Job Description:
Rightway/Bevans Ltd is an employee-owned, community-focused DIY, Home & Garden Hardware Retailer, known for friendly service and strong team values. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals to join our team in a varied part-time role.
Availability Requirement – Please Read Carefully
This role requires flexibility. You must be available to work up to 5 days out of 7, within the following operational hours:
- Monday to Saturday: between 7:00am and 5:30pm
- Sunday: between 9:00am and 4:00pm
Shifts will fall within these times and will include regular weekend working.
Hours & Pay
- Average 16 hours per week (hours may vary up or down based on business needs)
- £12.75 per hour (Over 21s)
Van Driver Duties
- Driving the internal delivery van between stores on the Wirral, Cheshire and North Wales
- Completing customer deliveries to customers’ homes in a professional and friendly manner
- Supporting the inter-store feeder van run, collecting and dropping off stock at each store location
- Loading and unloading stock safely and securely
- Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting any issues
Sales Assistant Duties
- Delivering excellent customer service in store
- Assisting customers with purchases and product advice
- Using the EPOS system for payments and stock checks
- Pricing, merchandising, and replenishing stock on the shop floor
- Receiving supplier deliveries, booking stock onto the system, and storing merchandise
- Offloading deliveries (manual lifting involved)
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-presented store
About You
- Enthusiastic, organised, and customer-focused
- Retail experience preferred but not essential (full training provided)
- Comfortable working independently when driving and as part of a wider team
- Numerate, literate, and confident using PC systems
- Clean driving licence essential
