Each tool converts into a spreader by releasing the pin, removing the chuck jaw and securing it to the opposite side of the bar. This reverses the direction of force, allowing the tool to push suitable surfaces apart rather than pulling them together.

That gives you both inward clamping and outward spreading functionality from the same tool.

With two clamps supplied, you can also apply pressure at separate points across an assembly. This is particularly useful when gluing or joining longer components where a single clamp may not provide sufficiently even holding pressure.

How to Use

Inspect both clamps before use and make sure the bars, jaws, handles and adjustment mechanisms are in suitable working condition.

Position the components you want to hold and make sure they're correctly aligned.

Use the quick-release mechanism to move the adjustable jaw until the opening is large enough to fit around the workpiece.

Position the flexible plastic jaw faces against appropriate areas of the material.

Hold the workpiece in position and press the operating lever to begin tightening the clamp.

Continue pressing the lever progressively until sufficient pressure has been applied to hold the workpiece securely.

Avoid applying unnecessary excessive pressure, particularly when working with softer timber, finished surfaces or delicate components.

When appropriate, position both supplied clamps at separate points across the workpiece to help distribute pressure more evenly.

Once the task is complete, press the quick-release button to release the clamping pressure.

Move the jaw away from the workpiece before removing the clamp.

To Use as a Spreader

Release the pin and remove the chuck jaw according to the manufacturer's design.

Reposition the jaw on the opposite side of the hardened steel bar and secure it tightly.

Check that the jaw is correctly fitted before applying pressure.

Position the spreader between the suitable surfaces that need to be moved apart.

Operate the lever progressively to apply controlled outward pressure.

Apply only the amount of force required for the task.

Use the quick-release mechanism to remove the pressure once the job is complete.

Return the jaw to its normal clamping configuration when required.
