How to Use

Make sure the wood is clean before application. Remove loose dirt and deal with any mould, lichen, algae or moss using an appropriate treatment where required.

Protect surrounding paving, plants and other surfaces from accidental splashes before you begin.

Stir the Ducksback thoroughly before use and periodically during application.

Test a small inconspicuous area first and allow it to dry so you can check both the finished Misty Heathland colour and adhesion.

Apply the product evenly along the grain using a suitable brush or roller, taking care to work it into the texture of rough-sawn timber.

Apply 2–3 coats as required, allowing approximately 2–4 hours between coats under normal weather conditions.

Because Ducksback contains water-repellent wax, subsequent coats should be applied within approximately 2–3 days of the previous coat.

Avoid applying below 5°C, in damp conditions or when rain is expected before the coating has had sufficient time to dry.

Remember that the wet product can look different from the final Misty Heathland shade, so assess the colour once it has dried.

If you're painting a complete run of fencing, work methodically from panel to panel and maintain a wet edge where practical to produce a more consistent finish.

Clean brushes and rollers with water after removing as much excess product as possible.
